StumbleUpon.com and I'm going to be giving a little demo tonight of what StumbleUpon is all about. If you look at the screen here, you can see a screenshot, it's our homepage. Basically, what StumbleUpon is it's a Web service that lets you discover great Internet content based on a community of people who have similar interests as you. So, it's a very simple sign-up process; it works with Firefox and IE, and once you get it installed, it basically adds a toolbar to the top of your browser; with a single click, you can then click the Stumble button, and it will take you to interesting web content, that matches your personal interests.

So, basically, I guess Dave (ph) is here who's account we are demoing on, it's sign up for online games. So, we've been presented here with this online game, and at any second you get you can either click, "I like it or not for me", to see if would you like to say or not. If you do click on "I like it", there is kind of a community aspect where you can then go see all the other people who ever liked this site and read the reviews. So, it's kind of like Lightweight blogging system/social network, combined with the toolbar that really becomes the recommendation engine of sorts. An interesting thing is that you can also explicitly subscribe to peoples content on StumbleUpon. So, you can invite your friends and then stumble through just sites that they like. So, here is (Inaudible) my profile for example; and being Dave, he can now come and click and Stumble through all the sites that I liked in the past. So, seems a little slow, I'll keep one...

Can you open them up all up in the in Firefox tab system, so can I say, "Stumble on all of these..." (Voice Overlap).

Garrett Camp - StumbleUpon.com
Yeah, you can just open the tab after tab if you want, and basically with each click it will just introduce a new webpage to you that person has liked. You can also look to Stumble within specific kind of topics; for example, if I just wanted to Stumble within Wikipedia articles, I could just see Wikipedia articles that other community members have rated. If I just wanted to Stumble in photos, that's not actually a really popular (Inaudible) we have, you can access and it will basically let you discover some of the best photography sites on the web with just a click. Then video is another interesting mode that we've added pretty recently, and that basically lets you stumble all the best videos that have been rated by community members on both YouTube, Google Video, and MySpace.

So, that's pretty much the essential services on StumbleUpon, the other cool feature we've recently added is that if you search on either Google or Yahoo! using Firefox, we actually link to their view pages on the search results. So, if you're doing a search and you want to see what people thought of iPodHacks.com you can click on that link and see all the other people who -- like I've got Hacks, you can also read the reviews that they've written. So, if you find someone that -- here this person says, "A great resource for iPod addicts like myself," I can go to his profile and I (Inaudible) history on, and you can examine other contents that he thought was interesting. So, it is like an interesting way to integrate a social network, and to view network with a traditional kind of blog system.
