You tell, -- a photographer from the National Geographic's Book at our Photo Journalism School when I was going there (Inaudible) and he said I only shoot two hours a day, first hour in the morning and the first and the last hour at night.

Yeah! Yeah a lot of times - yeah, I mean obviously most of my shots end up on a cutting room floor, you know it's all probably process, you know but I get though a fair enough from this, I got to get at least 50 or 60 shots that I like.

And -- but a lot of times, it's just a matter of time not to process them too. So, I just save them in a folder, every single day kind of my work flow is, I dump everything into a folder for that data time, edit what I think are the very best and then I'll pick through it later on. So I maybe processing shots that I took two years ago and sometimes it's amazing as the third or fourth or fifth time you kind of look through a folder of images and all of a sudden you say, "How did I miss that one?"

Well I've got about -- lets see now, about three terabytes of storage right now and mostly I am using external drives, I just fired I've been speaking of Seagate, I just bought two other new 750 gigabyte external USB drives.

And then import them into Photoshop one by one, so I use Microsoft's RAW Viewer plug-in that I added on so I could see at least the thumbnails.

Alright, Half Moon Bay pumpkins. I am looking forward to better support for our RAW files in Vista, apparently that's coming, so right now with RAW thumbnail plug-in, you can see the thumbnails and you can actually see the big pictures, if you actually open them up in a separate app, though you can't see the big sizes in Explorer.

Yeah I am looking forward to -- a lot of times I'll shoot both RAW and JPEG, just use JPEG as the larger preview because I can see the large shot and explore it with that. Yeah this thing is just beautiful, look at this old tractor, look at these controls, you said it didn't have so much shadow on this but, Amperes.

Yeah, yeah I was, yeah, yeah so. Yeah this is really interesting, this steering column.

What's catching your eye about it?

Just sort of the detail of the metal and the color, the reds and it's got so many different variations and its, this kind of like this three spokes that sort of spin off in three different directions and it's got a nice, green, soft background, it looks really nice I'm using a sort of really show it up to field there. Yeah see this is another thing, I could take like a tractor like this leaving those spaces in there and spend just three hours, take up the 135, take up the macro, take up the wide-angle and just end up with like 300 shots, 400 shots of this thing.

Yeah, that's one of the things, it's a little frustrating sometimes as a photographer though, I mean I kind of make it my life to shoot every single day and I shoot 100s and 100s of photos, but it kind of gets in the way of real life sometimes so that other people like sometimes my wife gets a little -- gets a little tired of having to stick around while.

You know I just think there's so many little tiny things in life that you can see that are intricate, that are detailed, that have meaning and we just take everything for granted and we walk by everything, we don't see everything, we don't look at anything, we never stop. And I think when you can sort of force yourself to stop and capture that, there is beauty in the smallest things and I think that there is in almost more of an abstract sense you know something like this pedal, take it apart from the tractor entirely and just look at it as a pedal, as something sort of interesting that you can create lines with and color with and depth of field, to me that's just fun stuff. I see stuff and there are a lot of people that don't, there you're absolutely right. Some people -- I'll be like shooting up the side of the building sometimes and someone will be like you're crazy, what are you doing? What do you see?

Yeah those are great too, yeah. That would be great for a wide-angle particularly. I've done a lot of that sort of line work. You know what else is cool is that there's that jar that I just saw on the other side over here. This thing right here?

Look at that and look at that spiderweb with it, and sort of the sunlight right now? I mean I'd love old things particularly, anything that's got some age, been around. You think about the sort of life that this thing has had you know. I've got some great shots from the Alameda County Fair earlier this year, some old John Deere and Maize tractors, -- and this light is really nice, it's just getting a glint right off that glass. I love shooting tractors.

One of the things we should shoot in the future is the Train Museum up in Sacramento; have you ever been there?

If you love this kind of stuff, you'll be -- we'll have to pry you out of there; it's a fantastic old Train Museum in Sacramento, it's the largest in the world I believe, if I remember right.

Wow, yeah, no I can shoot Trains all day too. You know it's funny I mean, I saw there is this poster by Johnny Cash, where he's like flipping off the music industry when he won his Grammy.

And I -- you know Welland this whole thing about what's Country Music and what's that and it's like 'Mama' and trains and this and that and all these things and my opinion train or tractor or something like that, you know and it's part of a bigger picture of things and people don't always see that, or recognize that, or realize that, its so easy just to drive by and not stop and not look.
